2- Saddam
I believe that everyone has good and bad. Saddam has many bad but he also has two unique good. First,He was the only Arab leader who was going to build the first Arab nuclear power. Second, he was a father who kept the diverse iraqi family together. Yes he was a nasty father but his role in keeping the unity of the iraqi family is unquestionable. Where the Iraq is going to? nobody knows

He was the enemy of Iran and the Iranian people.
He lived in the dream world of Arabism and destroyed Iraq in the pursuit of that nightmare.

Murdering the Shia religious leaders, murdering Iraqi Kurds, etc. The Ba'ath could only rule through murder and then bribing people with oil money.
There was no Law in Iraq - ever.
Hussein was not a progressive - he was just the usual Arab/Muslim potentate with the same Medieval mentality as say Salah Al-Din.
